Have you tried booting the DiskWarrior CD? It will be slow, but itĭid you format the My Book drive to HFS+ ? It probably ships asįAT32 and DiskWarrior will not repair FAT32. After that it will no longer take my password. ![]() That just started after I tried to change something and hit the password check while the password was not there. Might be part of the problem but when I try to change it I get an error 195 whatever that is. I just checked the permissions on the app itself and the second level says it belongs to staff with read only. The diskwarrior is either version 4 or 4.1 I can't tell. I can see the drive in diskapp and it says it is an apple partition drive. OTOH the original disk in the Macbook pro as it comes from Apple does not have the box either. In any case I formatted the replacement disk last night and it did have the ignore ownership box. I think I formatted the disk before using it but I'm not sure. They ship the cd later, 2-3 weeks according to their website. I downloaded the software because from what I read it seemed to have the best chance of making the data accessible again so I could start recovering it. ![]()
